Better Place and City of San Francisco Announce Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Initiative

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, San jose  Mayor  Chuck Reed and Better Place founder Shai Agassi announced today a partnership to  establish the first electric vehicle infrastructure for a city in North America. Better Place already has EV community infrastructure project s in Israel and Denmark. It was thought that Hawaii would be a first target in the U.S. due to it’s limited geographic span. I am happy to see San Francisco again take the lead in innovating. Australia recently got the financing in place to support a Better Place project there. Though this is a city agreement it will likely go state wide.

With the Governor’s Conference Monday and Tuesday and testimony in Sacramento today on the California Air Resource Boards AB32 Measure, California is increasingly taking the lead globally in climate change policy and change initiatives. Better Place announced that California to be first state, and Bay Area to be first region for the electric vehicle infrastructure roll out. Commercial availability is targeted to begin in 2012.  Leading up to that will be a $1B investment in the Bay Area to roll out  the infrastructure out creating thousands of green jobs.

  3. Better Place is cheating the whole world! They agree with corrupt states that these built the stations and Better Place makes money together with Renault and Nissan in a huge monopoly all over the world. But they will not succeed! Also because the batteries technology will not survive.
